ASUM lauds Songthu, flays KSO

Aimol Students' Union Manipur (ASUM) extended their heartiest congratulations to Songthu Christopher, who cracked the Civil Services Examination (CSE), 2023 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
According to a statement of ASUM, Christopher, who is the first from the Aimol community to crack the CSE-UPSC, is son of Songthu Khupjalal and Songthu Thiemneining of Aimol Khullen village, Tengnoupal district.
Christopher has proved that ambition blended with rigorous hard work with persistent perseverance and deference to the almighty is the roots of success, the ASUM said and prayed for greater success of Songthu Christopher.
In another statement, ASUM strongly condemned inclusion of Aimol and terming Aimol as Kuki tribe in a press statement of Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) in the latter's note of congratulating few Kukis for their successful CSE-UPSC.
Terming as baseless and unfounded KSQ's claim of Aimol as Kuki tribe, the ASUM said Aimol was never a Kuki tribe since time immemorial and Aimol community has its own tribe, students and Women unions.
It also appealed KSO to go through history before making any statement on another community while calling as unethical and unprofessional KSO's conduct.
