Imphal, August 31, 2009: The Kuki Students' Organization (KSO), Chandel district in Manipur has cautioned that appropriate action as per the FIR with the police would be initiated against the person involved in the July 2 accident that had killed a person, if the culprit fails to come forward to provide details of the incident by September 4, stated the KSO.

The KSO mentioned that the deceased, Ngamboi Aimol (25), son of Aleinvum Aimol of Aimoi Khunjai village, Chandel district was hit by a DI Tata on July 2, while the deceased was riding a Yamaha motorcycle between Moltuk village and Kotal Khunthak village, Chandel district.

The DI Tata was reportedly returning from Moltuk army post after delivering materials for setting up a Public Call Office (PCO) for the army post.

The students' body alleged that the driver fled away without attending the victim as there was no one around.

On investigation, one Nigombam Samananda Singh, son of N Sanajaoba Singh of Malom Hiyangthang, House No.32 had taken the contract for setting up a PCO (with no.03872-202539/202540) at Moltuk Army camp, it added.

The students' body has cautioned the culprit to come forward and provide the details of the incident.

Failure to come forward by September 4 would lead the students' body to launch a hunt for the culprit and appropriate action initiated against him as per the FIR registered with the police, said KSO.

Meanwhile, S Alianbum Aimol, father of the deceased, Ngamboi Aimol has registered an FIR with the superintendent of police, Chandel district.

Expressing shock over the behaviour of the army personnel, Alianbum Aimol stated that the army had knowledge of the incident as the reckless driver was entrusted with a proposal to open a PCO at the camp.

However, the army is denying to have known the driver and is trying to cover up the incident, added the father.

Despite the fact that the army maintains the records of all entries and exits of vehicles in the camp, the father alleged that the army claimed to have no knowledge of the whole incident.

This is suspicious and they are trying to cover up the true nature of the incident, added Alianbum Aimol.

He requested the superintendent of police to intervene and investigate the matter and establish the name of the culprit along with the vehicle number.

Demanding justice for his son, Alianbum Aimol further asked to arrest the culprit and seize the vehicle that had killed his son.
