Sainik School celebrates 41st Raising Day

Imphal, October 07 2012: Sainik School Imphal celebrated the 41st Raising Day with great zeal and enthusiasm on 07 Oct 2012.Brigadier KB Chand, Deputy GOC HQ 57 Mtn Div, Leimakhong was the Chief Guest for the occasion.

The celebrations started with wreath laying and floral tributes to the martyrs.

To mark the celebrations, various games and activities were conducted for General Employees in recognition of their invaluable contribution to the school.

The special feature of the program was presentation of slide show of rare photographs taken since inception of the school in 1971 .

Mrs Basanti Bhat, the First Lady of the school gave away prizes to the lady winners in games while the Hon'ble Chief Guest gave away prizes to the General Employees.

In his address, the Officiating Principal, Lieutenant Commander Gurbir Singh mentioned various outstanding achievements of the school in the field of academics, sports and co-curricular activities.

For these achievements he complimented the cadets and staff and thanked the parents and the State Govt for their wholehearted support.

Brigadier KB Chand, Hon'ble Chief Guest, in his address to the cadets, staff, alumni and parents complimented the school for excelling in every spheres of training.

He lauded the role of the ex and the present staff in bringing the school to this position.

He wished the school very best for all round development in future and urged the staff and cadets to continue the good work.

The celebrations culminated with "Sumang Leela", a traditional form of Manipuri drama.
