Following a consultative meeting convene the CDSU and COPTAM here today, various civil bodies and intellectuals in the district pledge their unconditional support on the demands put forward to the government by the two organisations.
Resolutions adopted after a minute discussion on the agenda table by organisers said, the demands made by CDSU and COPTAM were legitimate as such the initiative of CDSU in the district level and COPTAM in the state level were endorsed by the meeting.
Toeing the lines of the two organisations, the meeting question the act of the PWD in setting up a controversial signboard at Kangvai village; calls for conduct of census operation in the overlapping areas by the concern hill district; demarcation of district as per the original village boundary; maintaining of land records in the hill districts.
It also condemned the direct involvement of transporters in assaulting CDSU leaders and plead for immediate restoration of transportation in the district.
The failure to ensure smooth transportation by the government tantamount to imposition of economic blockade in Churachandpur district, the resolution adds.
