Imphal, September 10, 2009: The proscribed UNLF blamed the state government for the unsteady, unsure and fearful life of the state in the wake of rampant killing.

According to the press release issued by the Central Committee, UNLF, termed the present government led by chief minister O Ibobi as "puppet government" and stated that it has turned the state into a killing field.

Security forces are killing many innocent lives on daily basis in the state.

Their oppression and act of state terrorism has sown the seeds of fear in the minds of the innocent people.

Moreover, they are also suppressing the freedom of media.

In fact, this is the tactic of the India government to suppress the freedom revolution of the underground revolutionary organisation, to keep aside the IOFs from its operations and to let us kill one another.

UNLF is keeping the following lines to make our people aware about the situation in the state.

Freedom of a community is the birth right of the community.

That is why different people of different communities in the world struggle for freedom at the cost of their lives.

The war against the draconian rule of Europe which spreads in Africa, Asia and Latin America marked the late 20th Century in the world's history.

Thousands of people sacrifice their lives for the sake of freedom in the war.

In Manipur too, the statement observed, many revolutionaries have laid their lives in the struggle of freedom against the draconian rule of India.

IOF personnel and State Police Commandos have killed many innocent civilians.

There are also numbers of innocent lives who are spending their life in misery since the IOF personnel and State Police Commandos torture them in the name of CI ops.

The people of our motherland who lives a free life with their head high for more than 2000 years, once again showed their courage to fight until death for its freedom.

Many strong countries have got defeated whenever they tried to suppress the freedom of a free community since time immemorial, it stated.

About 34 years ago, in 1975, America who was a super power got defeated in the Vietnam War.

To sow the seed of fear into the minds of Vietnamese, America killed 504 innocent villagers including women and children.

The incident is still remembered as My Lai Massacre.

In spite of the tons of bombs and chemical agents Orange and Napalm Bomb that killed millions of innocent lives, the Vietnamese did not lose their love of freedom and their motherland and fought back relentless against the mighty American forces, the statement said.
