Imphal, May 21 2018:
The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Student Union, Regional Campus, Manipur (IGNTUSU-RCM) alleged today that the Director of the institute was putting fuel to the already charged situation, reports NNN.
The IGNTUSU-RCM in a press release alleged that instead of trying to resolve the issue the Director in question asked the agitating students to "join militants" .
The student union also alleged that the Director tried to "hit the president of the IGNTUSU-RCM with a chair" .
In this regard, the IGNTUSU drew the attention of the authority concerned and a clarification.
Till date there is no positive development regarding the issue of the varsity, said the IGNTUSU.
"Rather it is very unbecoming that the Director still insists for the opening of the varsity campus without any effort or attempt to bring a solution to the current impasse" .
The students warned that insisting to open the varsity campus before coming to any amicable solution will attract more problems, "and the Director will be solely
held responsible for the troubles" .
