Bravery award

Imphal, July 08 2017:
Chief Minister N Biren presented 'Uttam Jeevan Rakshak Padak Award-2016' to Maurice Yengkhom.
The award ceremony was held at the CM's Secretariat today.
The civilian award 'Uttam Jeevan Rakshak Padak Award' was conferred by the President and Ministry of Home Affairs, to Master Maurice Yengkhom in recognition ofhis indomitable courage and selfless act when he saved his cousin brother Master Hijam Rodin from electrocution at Yaiskul on May 8,2015 .
The civilian award consists of Uttam Jeevan Rakshak Padak Award-2016, UttamJeevanRakshakPadakMedal, miniature medal, certificate and a cheque of Rs 60,000 .
It may be mentioned that, in 2015, Maurice Yengkhom was awarded "National Bravery Award-2015" by Indian Council of Child Welfare, New Delhi.
Maurice Yengkhom is son of Yengkhom Junu Singh and Vinita Devi Elangbam of Yaiskul Police Lane, Imphal.
He is presently studying in 11th standard at Sagar School, Rajasthan.
