KRA firing incident taken up in House

Imphal, December 22 2011:
MLA Morung Makunga today took up the recent incident of opening fire by KRA, a signatory of Suspension of Operation (SoO), while Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh was inaugurating the ADC office complex at Kangpokpi, during Zero Hour of the Assembly today.
Taking up the issue, MLA Makunga demanded to know from where the KRA cadres have taken the guns since all the arms and other weapons of SoO signatory UG groups were supposed to have been taken into custody by the government.
MLA Makunga further observed that the attempt made by armed cadres of Zeliangrong United front (ZUF) to attack MPCC President Gaikhangam should not be taken lightly.
He also demanded to know whether the government has taken up any step to ban ZUF and if not what type of cases are to be registered against ZUF cadres in the event of their arrest.
Supporting the issue raised by MLA Makunga, Speaker I Hemochandra admitted that it is a serious issue in the wisdom of the House and gave necessary instruction for the Home Department to
pay attention.
Among other House Members who raised various issues during Zero Hour, MLA Dr I Ibohalbi proposed that more dental doctors should be appointed taking into consideration of rising cases of Oral cancer and other related diseases.
MLA Dr Kh Ratan pressed the government for investigation into the contradictory claims over the killing of one Laishram Ranbir of Uchiwa.
The commandos have claimed that Ranbir was an active member of KCP (MTF) Kesho group but the family members have refuted.
MLA TH Shyamkumar proposed that the Mutua Museum at Andro should be developed as a tourist spot.
MLA RK Anand pressed the government for clearing the pending compensation for people whose lands have been acquired for expansion of Tulihal Airport.
