Health seminar held at Kakching

A health seminar was conducted by 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR South at Kakching today.
The seminar was appropriately themed "Awareness with Compassion" where in Assam Rifles and other Government and Non Government agencies of Manipur joined hands against the menace of HIV/AIDS, said a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S).
The seminar was a step forward in the direction to eradicate the stigma and discrimination associated with the victims of HIV/AIDS.
Various eminent speakers expressed their views touching a over wide spectrum on issues related to HIV/AIDS.
The seminar was inaugurated by Maj Gen UK Gurung, YSM, IGAR(S) and attended by various civil dignitaries including Dr Lennin Singh, Department of Psychiatry, RIMS, Dr LR Kom, Dr RK Rosie, Dy Directors MACS, Dr Guneswar Shar-ma, State Ayush Officer, Dr Nabakanta Sharma, JNIMS, Hijam Rajesh, editor of The Sangai Express, Satyajit Usham, editor of Hueiyen Lanpao, Kh Pradeep Ku-mar,Mr Manipur, Ng Ratan Singh, Project Manager MNP+ and a large number of students from various colleges of Thoubal and Chandel District.
Topics like changing scenario of AIDS, Stigma and Discrimination, the nexus of Drugs HIV and AIDS, Role and Challenges of Media and Alternative Cure from AYU-SH were emphasized upon.
The seminar also included a deliberate discussion on various issues and questions of the audience were aptly answered by the eminent panel.
Assam Rifles yet again showed its commitment towards the well being of people of the Manipur.
This seminar is assured to go a long way in tackling the menace of HIV/AIDS and bringing the victims back to main stream.
