Locals, Lup urge authorities to repair road

The damage of abailey bridge connecting Sugnu AC and Kumbi AC has brought immense grievances to the commuters and local s of the area, reports our correspondent.
The locals, vehicles ranging from heavy to small are using another bailey bridge at Wangoo Laipham Chithek Leikai as an alternative way to the damaged bridge, also known as Wangoo bridge.
However, a particular road stretch from Wangoo Lupa Marup to the bridge located in Wangoo Laipham Chithek, is in a pathetic condition.
The said road stretch (2 km) becomes muddy during rainy season, which hinders the passers-by including students who ; walks by foot while the road is filled with dust and dirt in | summer, which again has become hazardous to the people.
Seeking attention of the State Government, the locals have urged the authorities concerned to repair the said road stretch leading to the bailey bridge in Wangoo Laipham Chithek.
Speaking to media persons, Wangoo Laipham Chaokhat Thourang Lup Advisor A Angangtomba said that the particular road has been in a poor condition since the 2015 flood and the road being a diversion or an alternative road of the damaged Wangoo Thongjao bridge has also worsened the situation.
The advisor has further urged the authorities concerned to revamp the road at the earliest considering the plights of the people.
