Imphal, December 11 2010:
The RPF/PLA has not launched any kind of operation as "Wakchingi Operation" against the non-Manipuris residing in the state, a statement of the proscribed outfit refuting yesterday's claim by a police officer while producing three persons nabbed by Imphal west police commandos.
Rubbishing the claim of Imphal West DSP Ibomcha while producing the three nabbed persons as propaganda, a statement signed by assistant publicity secretary GM Changjou clarified that the RPF/PLA has not launched any kind of operation under the code name "Wakchingi Operation" to kill non-Manipuris.
The statement said such a big operation can not be entrusted to just three persons who were said to have been arrested by the police on December 9 around 8 pm along with two small arms.
Besides this, the couple, Sh Raja Sharma @ Kokoton (47) of Keishampat Thokchom Leikai and his wife Bijaya (43) and the other person Mutum Tarun @ Bung (35) of Uripok Khaidem Leikai nabbed by the police commandos are not related with the RPF or PLA in any way.
They are all civilians.
However, it is true that one of the arms (a 9mm Mauser pistol along with magazine loaded with 10 live rounds) recovered from them belongs to the outfit.
It was kept in their house for some time.
The other arm has nothing to do with RPF/PLA, the statement said.
The charges levelled against them are that they were responsible for the killing of a non-local balloon seller in Keishampat on November 6 and that Bijaya aided in the crimes committed by Kokoton and Tarun is a concocted one.
It was nothing but to defame the outfit, GM Changjou said in the statement.
Force was used on the three to say so as a hidden agenda of the Manipur police commandos and such an act of police is not a new thing, the statement added.
The statement while alleging that Manipur police and its commando personnel are being utilized by both Manipur and India governments said that the propaganda spread by them has put non-Manipuris in a more dangerous situation.
This propaganda has put their (non-Manipuris) lives in a bigger risk.
RPF/PLA had asked them to leave the state on the ground that there is no security to their lives.
Taking the advantage of the RPF/PLA stance, Manipur government is trying to defame the revolutionaries.
In such a situation, it will be better for the non-Manipuris to abide by the warnings of the outfit, and to leave the state.
So far RPF/PLA has not launched any kind of operation to flush them out, the statement reiterated.
