Ukhrul, June 24 2024:
While vehemently condemning the recent killing of NSCN-IM captain RS Winson at the Indo-Myanmar border, Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has warned KNA (B), saying that such acts of violence would not be tolerated and the same would be met with befitting response.
In a statement issued on Monday, TNL president Sword Vashum expressed utter outrage of the entire Tangkhul Naga community at the recent tragedy, calling it a dastardly act of murder.
He mentioned that RS Winson of Ngainga village, Ukhrul district was killed while on duty guarding the borders of the self-administered Naga areas, Myanmar on June 15 last.
"We unequivocally condemn the most inhuman murderous acts of the KNA (B) responsible for Winson's killing," Vashum stated, and warned the KNA (B) in no uncertain terms that no such misadventure of heinous crime would be tolerated and would be met with befitting response.
"Be mindful; the innocent, the poor and the helpless would only bear the brunt of your blood thirsty misadventures," he cautioned.
Meanwhile, the TNL leader appealed to secu rity forces deployed along the current hyper sensitive 'border' range of Kamjong district, to be fair in their operational conduct.
"We implore that your professional and operational conducts would be above board and leave no room for doubt and suspicion.
We hope, we the people at the grassroots would not come to grudging your very presence on the line of your professional callings for reason of having forfeited people's trust," Vashum added.
