CM Biren credits Modi, Shah for states progress

Imphal, November 15 2021:
Chief Minister N Biren inaugurated 'Go to Village 2.0' for Imphal West District in a function held at Eco Tourism Park, Salam Thongkhong on Monday.
Speaking at the event, Biren hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah for their efforts towards bringing development in the state.
The programme which was organised by district administration, Imphal West will continue till November 17.Stalls of different government departments are being set up at the venue for providing services to the public.
CM Biren asserted that the Go to Village mission was taken up as an initiative of the state government to ensure doorstep delivery of services and added that such initiatives would help in regaining the erstwhile bonding and trust among different communities of the state.
Understanding the hardship faced by people living in far flung villages while visiting government offices for availing certain welfare schemes, the government took up the measures of providing various services and facilities at the doorstep of the public through the programme, he added.
Informing that a total of 2,679 villages had been covered under the Phase I of Go to Village and Go to Hills mission, he continued that the Phase II of the missions would cover the remaining villages.
The CM also mentioned about benefits provided under various welfare schemes and maintained that a total of around 5 lakhs people had been provided Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) cards and that of Ayushman Bharat cards to around 3.5 lakhs people so far.
Biren conveyed appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his concern about the state and timely initiatives taken up to save the lives of people during the hard times of Covid-19 pandemic.
He also thanked PM Modi and home minister Amit Shah for giving recognition to the Anglo-Manipuri war by renaming Mt Harriet in Andaman and Nicobar Island as Mt Manipur.
He further said that the government is for the people and is committed to work for the welfare of the people irrespective of their religion and place of settlement.
As a result, the BJP government is getting support from over 20 lakh population of the state.
He then urged the public to visit the stalls of different departments set up at the venue, take first-hand information of government schemes and avail maximum benefits of the schemes.

Education minister Sorokhaibam Rajen stated that the state government, under the capable leadership of Chief Minister N Biren, has always been working to achieve inclusive development.
Certain initiatives have been taken up to ensure the benefits of welfare schemes reach every eligible person by facilitating door to door delivery of services.
Most of the government departments and banks have set up their stalls at the venue to provide their services to the public.
Around 1,200 loans would be disbursed by Manipur State Co-operative Bank Ltd during the three-day programme.
Later, Biren distributed assistances of various schemes under different departments including wheelchairs, old age pension schemes, PMJAY & CMHT cards and aid and appliances for physically challenged persons among others.
Agriculture minister Oinam Lukhoi, Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, deputy speaker Kongkham Robindro, Manipur Buildings & Others Construction Workers' Welfare Board chairman Heikham Dingo, Konthoujam MLA Dr Sapam Ranjan, Wangjing Tentha MLA Paonam Brojen, Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam, Imphal West ZP adyakshya RK Taruni, chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, administrative secretaries, ZP members and other government officials attended the programme.
