Imphal, August 20 2024:
Teaching and non-teaching staff of Pravabati College, Mayang Imphal, Meira and members of local clubs staged a sit-in protest at the college premises today denouncing "monetary demands".
Pravabati College is an aided college and as such, the teachers and the college authority have been facing difficulties in running the institutes.
Moreover they haven't got salaries for around 29 months, said the teachers.
Amid such dire conditions, 'organisations' serving monetary demands to the college and teachers is very unfortunate, they said.
The college staff and the Meira Paibis urged all "organisations" concerned to stop demanding monetary assistance from the college, and refrain from intimidating the staff.
It may be noted that many reports have emerged about "organisations" serving monetary demands to colleges, schools, shops and other business establishments.
Many shops and whole markets have shut shops denouncing monetary demands.
