IMD issues thunderstorm alert for Tamenglong

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for Tamenglong district, predicting a thunderstorm with lightning and very heavy rainfall in isolated areas on June 18 .
The IMD has advised residents to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
In light of the impending weather conditions, the IMD has recommended the residents to stay informed by keeping up to date with the latest weather forecasts and warnings issued by local, state, and national authorities.
Property owners are urged to secure their homes by reinforcing old doors and windows and securing any loose objects around their premises.
Public have also been advised to stay indoors and avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary.
Activities such as agriculture, fishing, and other outdoor tasks should be postponed until the weather improves.
Residents should avoid flood-prone and landslide-prone areas, as well as rivers and streams, and move to safer locations if they are in vulnerable areas.
