Ibobi for continued partnership with CPI in SPF Govt-III

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has reportedly exuded confidence that Congress would return to power for the third consecutive term and expressed desire for continuation of partnership with CPI in Secular Progressive Front (SPF) government-III.
According to a reliable source in CPI, the aspiration of the Congress for continuation of partnership in SPF government was conveyed to CPI through a written letter by the Chief Minister himself.
The source disclosed that CPI has not yet given any response to the proposal nor discuss about it so far.
The party would make known its stand to the public after the results of the elections are declared.
President of CPI, State Council, Dr M Nara had already pointed out out during a press conference that the party will work to bring about a 'new and better coalition government' .
CPI had also earlier maintained that it would be too early to disclose the stand of the party on any post-poll alliance until declaration of the election results.
The source said that CPI has not made any formal decision on entering post-poll alliance with any political party for staking claim to formation of the next government in the state.
The party would be convening a meeting in this regard shortly.
Looking at the way, the Chief Minister has approached CPI for continuation of partnership; it is becoming clear that contrary to its earlier claim the Congress party would not get absolute majority in the election.
But as there is the possibility of Congress emerging as the single largest party, the Chief Minister may have thought of CPI for continued partnership, the source maintained.
On the other hand, People's Democratic Front (PDF), a pre-poll alliance of five political parties namely MPP, CPI (M), NCP, JD (U) and RJD, which had earlier sworn to unseat the Congress led SPF government has started singing a different tune, maintaining that there is no hard and fast rule that it cannot ally with any political party including Congress and NPF.
BJP is also all set to go with PDF since the ideologies of the two entities seem to be similar.
The PDF is also urging the Trinamool Congress and the CPI to join the alliance so as to bring about a change at the helm of power in the state.
Although the Trinamool Congress and CPI have not given any hint on their respective stand over post-poll alliance, MSCP has time and gain reiterated that it would be a party in the formation of the next government.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Party President Yumnam Mani said that for strengthening the position of MSCP, it would join in the formation of the next government in the state.
