World Homeopathy Day observed

Imphal, April 10 2019:
Directorate of Ayush, Lamphelpat, State Ayush Society and Homeopathy Medical Association, Manipur observed World Homeopathy Day at the premises of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Lamphelpat today.
Joint Secretary Health, Family Welfare & Ayush Rang Peter, Director Ayush L Promila Devi, Additional Director/member secretary EC State Ayush Society, Manipur Dr Y Lukhoi Singh and Additional Director Ayush Dr M Shyamjai Singh attended the event as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, Rang Peter said that homeopathy system of treatment is gaining popularity.
Homeopathy is popular in the State of Kerala, he said and added that the treatment is affordable and has no side effects.
It is second to Allopathy in popularity.
Homeopathy uses plants herbs as medicine and it has vast scope, he added.
Homeopathy was practised and its principles were promoted by Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, a Genrman physician in the 18th century.
World Homeopathy Day is observed to honour the father of the subject Dr Hahnemann, he said.
Director of Ayush, Promila said: "A rough study indicates that about 10% of the Indian population solely depends on Homeopathy for their healthcare needs".
Dignitaries at the event paid floral tribute to the photo of Dr Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of the Homeopathy system of medicine.
