Kakching, August 26 2024: Five clubs under the jurisdiction of Region-III, Zone VI of Lions Clubs International, District 322D planted around 100 tree saplings at Elang Keinya High School, Elangkhangpokpi and Eureka Academy, Thounaojam as part of the 'Ek Ped Maaka Naam' campaign in observance of World Environment Day.

Forty-five members of Lions Club of Kakching Greater, Lions Club of Thoubal, Lions Club of Thoubal Centurion, Lions Club of Wangjing and Lions Club of Kakching Sugnu planted the tree saplings in collaboration with the students and teachers of the respective schools.

Additionally, Kshetrimayum Leiren (98) participated in a tree plantation drive held yesterday at Angaan Ching Eco Park Kakching to mark her 98th birthday.

The nonagenarian from Kakching Mayai Leikai planted a sapling of Mayokpha tree accompanied by her son, daughter and grandchildren.
