Imphal, December 12 2024: Staff of Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) have urged the Government to revoke the reappointment of Akham Joykumar as the Chairman of the Board.

In a joint statement signed by 39 of them, the staff said that employees of BOSEM have also launched a pen down strike against the reappointment of A Joykumar as the Chairman of the BOSEM for the third time "in total violation of the rules of the Board as well as the condition for deputation of employees of the Department of Education (U) to the Departments/Board etc".

The staff even claimed that several student organisations and civil society organisations have accused Joykumar of being involved in malpractices.

Further claiming that the new Chairman is also interfering in many works of BOSEM and disrupting the normal functioning of the Board, the staff urged the Government to revoke the appointment of Joykumar as the Chairman of BOSEM.
