State bid adieus to Duggal

Imphal, August 29 2014 : An official farewell party was given to outgoing Governor of Manipur Vinod Kumar Duggal at Raj Bhavan today here.

The farewell function of the outgoing Governor was presided over by chief secretary, PC Lawmkunga and was attended by chief minister O.Ibobi, deputy chief minister Gaikhangam, council of ministers, MLAs, assembly speaker Th.Lokeshore, the chief justice of Manipur High Court, parliamentary secretaries, DGP Shahid Ahmed and head officials of police and civil societies.

It may be mentioned here that in December, 2013 V..KDuggal was appointed as the 14th Governor of Manipur.

Many appreciated for his accomplishments during his short stint here.

Speaking on the occasion, an emotion filled V..KDuggal stated that he is happy to part Manipur after performing his responsibilities as the Governor of the state and that his duties were performed with total commitment, dedication and humility well.

Showing his gratitude to the Government of India for giving him this opportunity to serve the people, he expressed happiness to the political parties and the people of the state for the respect and cares he had received during his tenure.

Wishing the best for the state's future, Duggal offered every possible assistance from his side to the state Government and the people to achieve their goals of further growth and prosperity.

VK Duggal then said that effective public service can be rendered not only from high positions and offices but one can serve the people productively from any place as an ordinary member of the society.

Encouraging all Indians to do their best, Duggal asked the people to do whatever they can in their capacity to ensure that the country continues to grow and attain the height it richly deserves.
