MPNF condemns burning, looting of Core Composite Project offices

MACS Partner NGO's Forum (MPNF) has strongly condemned the burning down and looting of offices belonging to a Core Composite Project working to prevent & reduce cases of HIV/AIDS in Churachandpur district.
In a release, MPNF stated that the sudden outbreak of communal clashes in Manipur on May 3 has led to irreparable loss of precious innocent lives and properties.
The forum continued that during the recent violence, an office of a Core Composite Project was burned down by an angry mob on May 4 & 5 in Churachandpur and again on May 17, another office of the same Project was vandalized and looted in the district.
Strongly condemning the burning down & looting of offices belonging to a Core Composite project, MPNF shared that hospitals and healthcare related institutions are not destroyed/ vandalized even during the time of war.
"HIV/AIDS does not discriminate on the basis of religion/ communities.
It is a major global public health issue", it added.
MPNF appealed to the public and all stakeholders to shun violence and refrain from targeting healthcare related institutions.
MPNF further urged the Government and authorities concerned to provide necessary security at healthcare related institutions to prevent similar acts in the future.
