All-party meet on ILP held sans NPF

To look into the possibility of formulating an own legislation for the protection of the interest of the indigenous people in Manipur, a 13-member committee with Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam as Chairman has been formed during an all political parties meeting convened by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today.
The meeting which was held in the Chief Minister's Secretariat from 2 pm to 7.30 pm was attended by 31 leaders of various political parties including, Trinamool Congress, CPI, CPM, JD-U, NCP, All India Forward Bloc, RSP, CPI (ML), BSP, MDPF, LJP, JD (S), MPP, AAP, BJP, etc.
However, leaders of the Naga People's Front (NPF) were conspicuous by their absence from the meeting, which also decided to have another meeting on August 9 at 3 pm at the official residence of Gaikhangam.
Legal experts will also join in the said meeting.
Today's meeting also resolved that a discussion will be held so that representatives of the Joint Co-ordination on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) can be part of the team which would be deputed to to New Delhi after the ongoing Parliament session to press the Centre for re-introduction of the Inner Line Permit in Manipur.
