"Cong MLAs eager to join BJP"

BJP Manipur State unit president in-charge and the party's vice president Salam Joy has claimed that many Congress MLAs have expressed desire to join BJP in view of the Congress party's bleak future in both the State and the Centre.
He made this statement during a membership drive conducted at the residence of Manipur Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker and Mayang Imphal AC MLA K Robindro, under the aegis of BJP Mayang Imphal Mandal today.
Speaking at the event, Salam Joy said that the Congress party is losing its foothold rapidly and as such, its MLAs are planning to abandon it.
Stating that the BJP enrolment drive began on July 6, he informed that around 5.40 lakh people had enrolled into the party even before the current drive was launched and the current drive aims to enrol about 2 lakh more people.
BJP secretary (org) P Premananda said that BJP has become the largest party in the world and appealed to all to enrol into the party and make Mayang Imphal, a Congress-less constituency.
On the other hand, K Robindro said that the pension scheme will be provided to the people at the polling stations from the coming month.
During the event, K Robindro distributed pension card and pensions to 610 people above the age of 70 .
