Kangpokpi, November 27 2017: The dead body of MBC Higher Secondary School, Kangpokpi Principal Lenkholal Chongloi was finally claimed by the family, Kuki Inpi and CSOs Kangpokpi, following a concrete assurance from the Chief Minister today afternoon .

Lenkholal Chongloi @ Helen Chongloi who is the Principal of MBC Higher Secondary School, Kangpokpi was found with bullet injuries inside the deep jungle of Tumuyon Khullen, also locally known as Haijang Hills .

In connection with the brutal killing of the Principal, Kuki Inpi and CSOs Kangpokpi served 24 hours ultimatum to the State Government to arrest the culprits involved in the crime .

The Kuki Inpi, CSOs Kangpokpi including KSO-GHQ, Chonghang Union met with the Chief Minister N Biren Singh at his chamber at around 3.30 pm, reports our correspondent .

During the meeting, Chief Minister assured to book the culprits and brought an understanding after which the family members, Kuki Inpi and CSOs Kangpokpi claimed the dead body from RIMS mortuary .

Speaking to media persons, general secretary of Kuki Inpi, Kangpokpi district Lamminlun Singsit said that nearly an hour-long meeting was held this afternoon with CM, in the presence of Social Minister Nemcha Kipgen, Chief Secretary, DGP and SP, Kangpokpi .

Lamminlun Singsit continued that during the meeting, the Chief Minister assured the delegates that a thorough investigation will be initiated at the earliest so that the culprits involved in the killing are booked.

He also appealed to withdraw any agitation launched by Kuki Inpi and CSOs Kangpokpi .

He further said considering the concrete assurance of the Chief Minister, Kuki Inpi and CSOs Kangpokpi have withdrawn the ultimatum and aborted all strategies of agitation .

However, if the State Government fails to materialize the assurance, the Kuki Inpi and CSOs Kangpokpi will discuss the matter with the people and will be ready to launch any sort of agitation depending on the decision of the whole group, Lamminlun Singsit added .

Meanwhile, more condolence and condemnation poured in over the brutal killing of the Principal, seeking justice and demanding punishment of the culprits .

Thadou Students' Association Sadar Hills expressed its deepest condolence over the brutal killing of Lenkholal Chongloi while sharing the pain and grief of the bereaved family .

The student body also condemned the incident in the highest form while terming it as a 'heinous crime' and ‘unacceptable’ in the society .

It also urged the State Government not to delay in delivering justice, in the larger interest of the people and demand to nap the culprits at the earliest .

Zillai Kangpokpi Block also vehemently condemned the killing of the Principal while sharing the pain and grief of the bereaved family .

It also demand the State Government and the authority concerned to book the culprits at the earliest and initiate appropriate probe.
