TPR rises; one death, 32 new cases reported

Imphal, December 05 2021: The daily test positivity rate on Sunday climbed up to 2.16 per cent against 1.98 per cent recorded on Saturday as government bulletins reported 32 new positive cases out of 1484 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Sunday also reported one death case, which took the total number of fatalities to 1982.The victim was a resident of Imphal West district, who had received first dose of Covid vaccine.

So far, 131 vaccinated people have died due to Covid-19 out of which 21 have received the second dose of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, the active caseload came down to 353 out of which only 69 (19.55 per cent) are in home isolation.

There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.

Out of the 16 districts, only five reported fresh Covid cases on Sunday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 14 .

In terms of positivity rate, Chandel district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 7.4 per cent while Thoubal district recorded lowest positivity rate at 1.1 per cent.

So far, the state has recorded 95,960 positive cases and 1608 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 208 new cases and 11 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.

So far, 155 new positive cases and five fatalities have been reported during the current month.

According to official reports, the 32 new positive cases included 30 people (16 male & 14 female) from among the general population and two personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (2), JNIMS (5) and other testing centres (25) .

The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (11), Imphal West (14), Thoubal (l) and Bishnupur (4).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the last 24 hours, 40 patients were discharged from home isolation (4), RIMS (1), JNIMS (10) and CCCs (25) .

The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,360 (general population -1,20,927 and CAPF personnel 4,433).Number of recovered cases is 1,23,025 (general population -1,18,630 and CAPF personnel -4,395) and number of active cases is 353 (general population - 320 and CAPF personnel - 33).The recovery rate is 98.14 per cent.

A total of 493 D-type and 147 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 7347 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,90,214 including 9,02,101 fully vaccinated individuals.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,943), Imphal East (27,835), Thoubal (9481), Churachandpur (10,186), Kangpokpi (2787), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9213), Senapati (2244), Ukhrul (2996), Kakching (6441), Chandel (2358), Noney (1074), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464) .

Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (663), Imphal East (474), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,400 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,750 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 4,59,909 tests per million population against the national average of 4,62,552 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, only 1484 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.16 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.78 per cent.
