60 days sericulture training begins

Department of Sericulture organised the 10th batch of residential beneficiary empowerment programme on how to rear and maintain silkworms, at Project Management Complex, Sangaipat today.
Department of Sericulture Director Salam Kunjakishore graced the event as chief guest while Sericulture Department Assistant Director (Technical) Hamitdun and Sericulture Department Deputy Director Ch Harendrakumar also attended.
Speaking on the occasion, Salam Kunjakishore conveyed that the programme is a 60 days batch-wise training carried out under the Department of Sericulture which emphasis on beneficiaries/individuals rearing silkworms from different districts.
He informed that the Department has made necessary arrangements to organise such training programme at other districts as well.
Experts and trainers will speak and demonstrate the participants on the basic steps on planting a nursery plant and rearing a silkworm, how to provide and nurture the silkworm and how to build/set up an appropriate location to rear the silkworm.
The chief guest further stated appealed the people to maintain work culture and make rearing of silkworm as a source of livelihood and amplify the production so as to improve the socio economic status of the State.
