Inter State Youth Exchange Prog 2018 kicks off

Imphal, October 23 2018:
Education Minister, Thokchom Radheshyam inaugurated the 15 Days Inter State Youth Exchange Programme, 2018 today.
The Inter State Youth Exchange Programme was launched under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, National Programme for Youth and Adolescent Development, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Imphal West at Youth Hostel, Kodompokpi Sports Ground, Wangjing today.
Speaking as the chief guest, Th Radheshyam said that the future of India lies in the hands of its youth.
Unity among the youth, he added, is the strength that will help in achieving the super power status for the country.
He stressed that the exchange programme will help in acknowledging and highlighting the diverse culture of the country by sharing the experiences, ideas and views.
The experience during the exchange programme, he said, should be cherished by the students, bind with the notion of being a part of the diverse culture of India.
Addressing the gathering, Youths Affairs & Sports, Minister, Letpao Haokip said that it is from the sacrifices of the great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel that United India today stands strong.
The YA&S Minister said that it is now the duty of the youth to safeguard the country through harmony and unite for betterment of the country.
He said that he hope the programme will bring closeness among the people of the nation.
Participated by 50 students Madhya Pradesh, 20 from Nagaland and 30 from Manipur, the programme will celebrate the diversity of India as a nation through interaction of the diverse cuisine, music, dance, theatre, handicrafts, sports, literature, etc.
to enable them imbibe the innate chord of bonding and brotherhood.
Members of Nehru Yuva Kendra of Manipur also attended the programme.
Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat is an initiative of the Government of India launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Rashtriya Ekta Divas held on October 31, 2015, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The campaign is to foster national integration by a coordinated mutual engagement process.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development, has been designated Nodal Ministry for co-ordination of the programme.
