Imphal, August 26 2024:
MLA Kh Joykisan has announced that he would 'adopt' all the IDPs currently taking shelter at three relief camps opened within Thangmeiband AC.
The MLA announced that he would look after all the requirements of the IDPs currently staying at Khomdram Selungba School relief camp, THAU complex relief camp and Tombisana School relief camp.
Speaking to media persons at Tombisana School relief camp, Joykisan said that he would look after the basic requirements of the three relief camps such as food, healthcare and education.
Even though the Government and different sections of people have been helping the IDPs, they are still suffering from several wants, he said.

Saying that all MLAs should take greater responsibility in running the relief camps, Joykisan said that he and clubs/organisations of Thangmeiband have been helping the three relief camps opened within Thangmeiband AC.
"In addition to the assistance provided by the Government, I will help the IDPs living in the three relief camps at my best level", he said.
He then appealed to fellow MLAs, Ministers and MPs to look after the needs of IDPs living in relief camps within their respective Assembly segments.
E-rickshaws would be hired for transportation of students from relief camps to schools/colleges and back, he said.
"I would also look after other requirements like food, clothing and healthcare", he added.
Joykisan also extended a monetary assistance of Rs 64,000 to RC Mangangcha, a journalist who was physically assaulted by a Sub-Inspector of the Manipur police recently.
The MLA handed over the assistance to RC Mangangcha at his residence at Keirao Bitra Lairembi Leikai today.
The monetary assistance is to cover the treatment expense, said MLA Joykisan.
Working for the Impact TV, RC Mangangcha was covering a protest staged by the internally displaced people at Akampat Ideal Girls' College on August 1, when he was physically assaulted by the police officer.
Notably, the police officer was put under suspension a few days after the incident.
