Cabinet adopts slew of measures

The Cabinet has agreed to allocate a land measuring 4.04 acres at Langthrei Loukol under Keirao Block, Imphal East for settlement of 110 families affected in the expansion of the Manipur High Court complex today.
The resolution was taken during a Cabinet meeting held at the CM's Secretariat and presided by Chief Minister N Biren Singh today.
A well placed source said that the resolution to settle the affected families at Langthrei Loukol was taken based on the commitment given by the State Government to the National Human Rights Commission.
The meeting has also given the go ahead signal to the Unified Zoning/Used Regulation Bye-Laws for the Master Plan Areas of Manipur which allows establishment of hostels at industrial areas.
Further, the Cabinet approved the Model Manipur Unified Building Bye-Laws 2024 .
Among others, the meeting also agreed to build multi-storey Government quarters at Langol foothills, allot 2.37 acres of land from the land allotted to Himalayan Tiles and Marbles Private Limited at Taothang for construction of working women hostel and to build a solid waste management plant at a land measuring 2.53 hectare at Khekman.
Adoption of National Pension Scheme for Manipur Technical University and formulation of Manipur Forest Training Institute Rules, 2024 to modernise the training of Forest staff were agreed by the Cabinet, apart from resolving to give a suitable Government job to the wife of Late Rifleman Pukhram Ranabir of Moirang Patlou who died in an exchange of fire with Kuki militants at Phougakchao Ikhai Maning Leikai on July 7 last year.
The meeting also approved the formation of Direct Purchase Committee with Imphal East Deputy Commissioner as the Chairman to procure land for the establishment of Manipur Football Academy.
Meanwhile, there will be 30 general holidays and 35 restricted holidays next year (2025) as approved by the Cabinet.
