Cabinet okays upgrading SDC circles

The Cabinet which met today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has approved filling up of vacant post of Section Officer Grade I and to upgrade some SDC circles to the level of SDO circles.
The Cabinet meeting convened at the CM's Secretariat this evening decided to effect regular appointment of 44 post of SO Grade-I in the State PWD out of which 30 will be utilised on deputation basis for the ongoing rail-line project.
The 30 SOs will be absorbed to the State PWD on completion of the rail-line project even though there is provision for some of the them to remain as SOs of the Indian Railways.
It was also decided that Borobekra in Jiribam sub-division, Vangai Range, Tuibuong and Sangaikot under Churachandpur district, Khoupum in Tamenglong and Island under Senapati district would be elevated to the level of SDO circle.
On the other hand, Jessami High School would be upgraded to a higher secondary for which 24 teaching staff and four laboratory technician would also be appointed.
Sangaiyumpham and Kwakta junior high schools would be upgraded to high schools while appointment of 309 aided and elementary level teachers will be effected in both the hill and valley districts.
The Cabinet also approved appointment as science and arts graduate post to next of kin of 12 persons who got killed during the June 2001 incident while for six other relatives appointment would be based on their educational qualification.
Wangoi, Yairipok, Sugnu and Lamlai Nagar Panchayats would be elevated to municipalities while in health sector the Chakpikarong PHC has been upgraded to CHC.
Similarly PHSCs of Komlathabi, Khonghampat, Karong, Sangai Yumpham and Kwakta will be upgraded to Primary Health Centres.
Against 400 vacant posts of ANMs in both the hills and valley districts, appointment would be made for 200 post.
The Cabinet also decided to provide police department appointment to next of kins of security personnel killed in the Riha ambush on the convoy of Phungyar AC MLA (late) Wungnaoshang Keishing.
Ration money of VDF personnel would be hiked to Rs 1000 from the current scale of Rs 570 while training would be provided to State security force personnel for their utilisation as police commandos in all the districts .
