PPF offers to claim corpses to perform last rites, rituals

The Pangal (Manipuri Muslim) Political Forum (PPF) has appealed to the Government authorities to let them claim the corpses of the two purported Saudi Arabian Nationals who were killed in a brawl inside Sajiwa Central Jail.
Seeking permission to bury the corpses of the two foreign Nationals in accordance to Islamic customs, the PPF today submitted an application to the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, Additional DGP (Prisons), Special Secretary (Home), SP (Prison), Sajiwa Central Jail and the Manipur State Minority Commission Chairperson.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here this afternoon, PPF spokesman MI Khan said that no country including Saudi Arabia has so far offered to claim the corpses of the two foreign Nationals.
Offering to bury the two corpses in accordance to Islamic rites and rituals, MI Khan said that they would preserve their graveyards so that anyone who would like to investigate in future may do so.
Informing that PPF is prepared to perform the last rites of the two deceased foreign Nationals, MI Khan appealed to the State Government to hand over the two corpses to them.
He also appealed to the Government not to dispose the corpses as unclaimed bodies.
The two forieng Nationals were lynched by jail inmates on Saturday.
