Imphal, July 13 2021: The state on Tuesday recorded 22 death cases, which is the second highest fatalities reported in a single day after May 19 which registered 23 death cases, while 796 new positive cases were detected out of 4961 samples tested in the last 24 hours presenting a positivity rate of 16.05 per cent.

Meanwhile, the active caseload of the state has reached 7706 on Tuesday out of which 3057 (39.67 per cent) are in home isolation, 2613 (33.91 per cent) in CHICs, 1171 (15.20 per cent) in CCCs and 865 (11.23) are in different hospitals.

Out of the 865 patients admitted to different hospitals, 351 patients are on oxygen support and 43 on ventilator support.

The report, however, does not contain data of patients on oxygen support from different hospitals including JNIMS even though several patients are admitted in ICU/HDU wards in these hospitals.

On the other hand, at least 90 patients are on oxygen support in different CCCs.

Number of patients admitted against available bed strengths in different treatment facilities in the state as of Monday night are RIMS (218/224), JNIMS (220/286), I Land Hospital (25/60), District Covid Facilities (154/332), MSF (29/30), Private Covid Hospitals (218/360) and CCCs (1171/2906).The grand total of admitted patients is 2036 and number of beds available is 2162, which include 427 in hospitals and 1735 in CCCs.

According to official reports, the 796 new cases included 788 people (384 male & 404 female) from among the general population and 8 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

Their samples were tested at RIMS (15), JNIMS (99), District Hospitals (452) and other testing centres (230).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (199), Imphal West (165), Thoubal (78), Bishnupur (80), Kakching (47), Ukhrul (19), Churachandpur (120), Chandel (8), Senapati (24), Tamenglong (16), Tengnoupal (3), Jiribam (12), Pherzawl (1), Kamjong (3) and Kangpokpi (13).The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 22 Covid-19 deaths (13 male & 9 female) in the last 24 hours.

The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (5), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (5), Chandel (2), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (1).Nine patients died at JNIMS, five at RIMS, four at Shija Hospitals, three at Raj Medicity and one at DH Churachandpur.

The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1309.Five of the 22 victims were below 60 years of age.

All the victims were not vaccinated except for a 76-year-old man, who had the first dose of vaccine.

Six patients died within 24 hours of arriving at hospital and one within 48 hours.

Nine victims did not have any co-morbid conditions.

In the last 24 hours, 588 patients were discharged from home isolation (227), RIMS (15), JNIMS (7), CCCs (120) and CHICs (219).Meanwhile, 70 new positive cases were detected out of 478 samples tested in Kakching district from Monday 2 pm to Tuesday 2 pm.

Seven of the cases were detected at Jivan Hospital and 63 at different government RAT sites and house to house testing.

According to DSO Kakching, the district has 4344 confirmed cases out of which 3566 have been discharged and 88 have died.

The active caseload as of Tuesday afternoon is 690.The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 79,417 (general population - 75,492 and CAPF personnel - 3,925).Number of recovered cases is 70,402 (general population - 66,579 and CAPF personnel - 3,823) and number of active cases is 7,706 (general population - 7,609 and CAPF personnel - 97).The recovery rate is 88.65 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1940 D-type and 379 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

District hospitals and government institutions have 355D and 89B filled cylinders and stock distributions made in the last 24 hours included Bishnupur (77D,0B), Chandel (26D,5B), Churachandpur (25D,0B), Senapati (40D,0B), Thoubal (65D,30B), Ukhrul (17D,18B), Tamenglong (20D,0B), Jiribam (48D,13B), Moreh (9D,0B), Kamjong (3D,2B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kakching (14D, 15B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney (2D,0B) and CCCs (379D, 124B) .

A total of 14,369 vaccine doses were administered on Monday and the cumulative number of vaccinated people has reached 7,94,672 which include 95,971 individuals who have got their second dose.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (27,580), Imphal East (17,475), Thoubal (6684), Churachandpur (6550), Kangpokpi (1978), Tamenglong (2278), Bishnupur (5348), Senapati (1516), Ukhrul (1580), Kakching (4214), Chandel (1314), Noney (606), Tengnoupal (840), Jiribam (808), Kamjong (491), and Pherzawl (155) .

Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (455), Imphal East (330), Thoubal (122), Churachandpur (107), Kangpokpi (36), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (108), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (16), Kakching (80), Chandel (20), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (8), Jiribam (4), Kamjong (3), and Pherzawl (0) .

However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 25,594 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,177 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 3,11,779 tests per million population against the national average of 3,11,390 TPM.

Case fatality rate rose to 1.65 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, 4961 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 16.05 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 8.21 per cent.
