'Leaders not concerned with problems of migrants'
46th Hunger Marchers Day Observed

The powerful student body of the state the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) today observed the 46th Hunger Marchers Day today.
The main function was held at Pishum Chinga at the Martyrs memorial where large numbers of students offered floral tributes to the Late student leaders.
The observance began with the hosting of the AMSU flag by the president, Thokchom Suresh.
A peaceful rally of the students started from Pishum and through Keishamthong, Keishampat, Wahengbam Leikai, Nagamapal, Khuyathong and culminated at the THAU ground, Thangmeiband where a general meeting was held.
A host of student leaders of the state including DESAM president, LC Santosh, MSF president, Laishram Ibomcha, KSA president, Yumnam Pradeepkumar, former AMSU presidents S Budhi, Y Priyokumar graced as presidum members.
Speaking at the function AMSU chief Suresh blamed the failure of successive state governments for which the present generation is facing the music.
The All Manipur Students' Union alone cannot be able to solve the multiple problems faced by the society, the AMSU president also said.
The civil society organizations, NGOs and the Meira Paibis keeping aside all differences should work together for the welfare of the state, Suresh appealed.
The CM's comment on re-imposition of Inner Line Permit System in state is a irresponsible statement, the AMSU president said.
The inaction by the elected representatives on the issue of migrants is a clear example of the neglect of this core issue, he added.
DESAM president Santosh said the problems of state can only be solved when we have a strong state government.
We can bring positive changes in the state only after we think of ourselves as a social unit, he added.
UCM, vice president, Y Nabachandra termed the state government as a government for namesake, dancing to the tune of the central government.
The O Ibobi led Government of Manipur is depending on the central government in all issues though the need is for all of us to unite together, he added.
AMSU, Chandel District Committee Moreh also observed the 46th Hunger Kondong Lairembi Haraobung today.
A painting competition for students residing in and around Moreh was also held in three catagories.
Three students of All Community Welfare School, 10 from Lorain English School, four from St George High School, 14 from Bethsaida Academy School, 13 from Moreh Government higher Secondary School and 11 from Eastern Shine School participated in the competition.
AMSU, Jiribam also observed the Day at Jiribam today.
A rally was taken out starting from ADC office and proceeded upto Jiribam Hr Sec School where the main function was held.
The function was graced by the Principal of Jiribam College, Dr N Bijoy, president of AMSU, Jiribam District, N Khelkumar and president of Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Lup, Th Jeni as the chief Guest, president and guests of
honour respectively.
