AR conducts free medical camp

2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a free medical camp at village Khangabok, Thoubal district on July 15 wherein a medical team comprising of one doctor and four medical staff provided medical aid to 240 men, women and children with aim to prevent water borne diseases due to torrential water flow and incessant rainfall in last few days .
According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), the medical staff distributed free medicines to the locals and carried out medical checkup of all attendees.
The unit team also provided safe drinking water to the local populace .
In another similar endeavour, medical camps were organised by 5 JAK RIF, Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Lilong and Maibam Chinmang.
About 500 patients from affected areas were given medical aid during the camp.
Local Madrasas and the Maibam Youth Club cum Library (MYCCL) provided full assistance in organizing the event .
Patients were checked and provided with free medicines.
These series of camps by the Army were organised on request of the people and they have expressed desire for more such medical camps in future.
