KIF raises posers before KIM, KSO

Imphal, July 22 2017: Kuki Intellectual Forum, Chandel and Tengnoupal districts has laid certain points before leaders of Kuki CSOs regarding their stands on the killing of HSO president .

In a statement, information secretary of KIF, Chandel and Tengnoupal districts, Haopu Haokip said that S Otkhomang (57), chief of N Gamnom village and Tilpao Haokip, chairman of the local Church at N Gamnom village, Tengnoupal district were kidnapped and mercilessly murdered on January 7, 2017.The investigation report remains pending till date.

Why do the civil societies keep mum and dead in this matter when a Church and village leader were murdered brutally?
It also pointed out that Jangkholam Simte, president, KSO Gunpi Block and Jamminthang Zou were shot point blank by KNLF/KNO on January 1, 2017 at Kholmun village, Churachandpur.

So far, the investigation is pending with the police.

The apex body of Kukis � KIM and KSO should re-address this matter at the earliest possible time at the larger interest of the Kuki people so that none will take KIM and KSO as biased to any particular group/clan/people .

It has been widely accepted that KIM and KSO are for all the Kukis.

But, in contradiction to its Haipi Conclave Declaration, 2015, why do they have to encourage again a clan based organization like HSO and HPC and had a joint meeting, it categorically asked.

“Is this a clear indication of KIM and KSO as biased organizations to a particular group/clan?” it further asked .

It has been reported that Solomon Baite, an active cadre of USRA/KNO and the accused in the recent murder of HSO president Letkholal Haokip alias Palal, stated the alleged involvement of Soson Haokip @ SS Haokip and Ngamcha Baite, claimed to be an associate of SS Haokip .

Will it be wise to charge SS Haokip and Ngamcha Baite as per the statement of Solomon in the recent assassination of Palal and take a decision to boycott them by KIM and KSO when the case is still under investigation, it further asked.

The authenticity of Solomon's statement can only be confirmed only when they are convicted by the law court and cannot be taken forward as of now, it added .

So far for IPC 302, there is no report made public in the newspaper about the investigation report anywhere in the country during the process of investigation.

How can this be made public by the Investigation Officer? Does this intend to malign the image of SS Haokip and manipulate the evidence during the course of investigation by political motivation, the KIF statement asked .

As such, in the light of the points raised, the Kukis in Chandel and Tengnoupal districts will no long accept KSO and KIM as their leaders with immediate effect in the vast interest of the public until and unless the points are redressed.

Therefore, the Government of Manipur should look into it immediately and take stock for future peace and harmony among the Kuki people, it added.
