Imphal, June 12 2016:
As part of the month long tree plantation drive in
Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituency conducted by the
Youths' United Mutual Bond of Initiation and Naoriya Pakhanglakpa
Kendra Development Committee under the sponsorship of Dr
Soraisam Manaoton, extensive tree plantation drive was taken out
today at Malom Tulihal Lainingthou Khunjaoba Laibung and Ikhei
Ningthou Laibung today.
The month long tree plantation drive was
started from June 5 as Environment Month in the entire Assembly
Constituency, stated Manaoton who is an active member of BJP
Manipur Pradesh.
By the sideline of the function, he said that the anti-
ILP campaign instigated by some sections for their vested interest
should be stopped.
The three Bills passed by the Manipur State As-
sembly last year should not be termed or taken to be against a specific
ethnic community settled in the State.
The Bills are to save the indig-
enous people of Manipur and all ethnic communities should be given
equal protection by the Indian Constitution through such Bills, he
added.
He said that misunderstandings which occurred between
members of the all political party who went to press the Union
Govt to convert the Bills into Acts should not have happened if
there were no trust issue between political leaders.
Further, he stated that the consideration of the Union Home
Minister to rectify any discrepancies in the three Bills shows that
the BJP led Union Govt is not against the Meitei ethnic commu-
nities.
All political differences should be shed by leaders to bring
an understanding with the demand for implementation of Inner
Line Permit System in Manipur, he added.
Manaoton also urged
the concerned authorities to do the needful at the earliest and
release members of Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA)
who were arrested by the police earlier.
