Sainik School lauds ex-cadets on clearing UPSC, SSB exams

The Sainik School Imphal basks in pride and glory when one of its ex-cadet cleared the Indian Civil Services 2019 and three others cleared the SSB of 144 NDA/106 NA, stated a press statement issued by Sreeprakash J, Wg Cdr, vice Principal on behalf of the Principal of Sainik School Imphal.
An ex-cadet Parikshit Thoudam, s/o Thoudam Somorendro Singh of Uripok Cheirap Maning Cosmo Leirak, has brought laurels to the school by clearing the Indian Civil Services 2019 conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
He secured the 373 merit.
Parikshit joined Sainik School Imphal in May 2006, a brilliant student who since his tender age keenly participated in all the sports and co-curricular activities of the school.
Some achievements of Parikshit Thoudam during his tenure in Sainik School Imphal which may be mentioned are: (a) Participated in the CSIR program for Youth Leadership in Science' held at CSIR, North Eastern Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat, Assam and secured 5th position in the ex-tempore speech competition.
(b) Secured second position in the National Science Seminar held in Oct 2010 at VIT, Bangalore, organized by National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) .
(c) Selected by JENESYS (Japan East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth Programme) for its first batch of visit to Japan in 2012 .
(d) His essay on "Role of Society and Government for Conservation of Environment" was adjudged Third among the best 17 participants in the country in Innovation Challenge 2012 organised by IIMT and Oxford Brookes University at New Delhi in 2012.(e) Secured 1st position in the Science Declamation Competition organized by MASTEC in 2011 at lboyaima Sumang Leela Sanglen, Imphal.
(f) Awarded the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), a National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Parikshit Thoudam passed out from Sainik School Imphal after completing Class XII in 2013 and pursued BS-MS (Dual Degree) in Biology at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (ISER), Bhopal.
He is one among the two individuals from Manipur who cleared the Indian Civil Services Examination 2019.Three more cadets of Sainik School Imphal have cleared the competitive Services Selection Board (SSB) and will be joining the National Defence Academy/Naval Academy.
The cadets are; (a) Naorem Nivash who will be joining the Indian Navy, (b) Ronendro Angom, who will be joining the Indian Army, (c) Platinum Arambam, who will be joining the Indian Air Force.
Group captain HCS Chauhan complimented the alumni on their success and also lauded the role of the faculty and the staff of the school in grooming them.
