State reports nine deaths, 592 new cases, 494 recoveries

Imphal, June 30 2021: The state on Wednesday recorded nine death cases along with 592 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 4337 samples reporting a positivity rate of 13.65 per cent.

Wednesday also reported 494 recoveries while the active caseload rose to 6012 out of 2478 are in home isolation and 1926 in CHICs.

Of the remaining active cases, 742 are admitted in different hospitals and 297 of them are on oxygen support while 50 are on ventilator support including 13 on NIV.

Number of patients admitted in CCCs as on Tuesday night was 866 with 89 of them on oxygen support.

June reported 19,039 new cases and 343 fatalities of which 4168 new cases and 76 fatalities were reported in the last seven days.

So far, 41,602 positive cases and 795 fatalities have been reported since the beginning of the current year.

The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee has reported 9 Covid-19 deaths (5 males & 4 females) including a 30-year old woman from Imphal East district in the last 24 hours.

The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (3), Imphal East (3), Bishnupur (2) and Kakching (1) .

Six patients died at JNIMS and one at RIMS while two patients died at Covid Treatment Centre managed by Doctors Without Borders (MSF) at Little Flower School.

The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1150 .

Three patients died within 24 hours of reaching hospital and one within 48 hours.

Three patients did not have any co-mor-bid conditions.

According to official reports, the 592 new cases included 580 persons (321s male & 259 females) from among the general population and 12 personal from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

Their samples were tested at RIMS (15), JNIMS (43), district hospitals (353) and other testing centres (181).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (112), Imphal West (202), Thoubal (59), Bishnupur (56), Kakching (39), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (56), Chandel ((17), Senapati (5), Tamenglong 3), Tengnoupal (2), Kamjong 10), Noney (1) and Kangpokpi 12).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

The 494 persons discharged in the last 24 hours are from home isolation (161), RIMS (28), JNIMS (6), CCCs (120) and CHICs (179) .

The cumulative number of positive cases is 69,790 (general population - 65,955 and CAPF personnel - 3,835) .

Number of recovered cases is 62,628 (general population - 58,852 and CAPF personnel - 3,776) and number of active cases is 6,012 (general population - 5,958 and CAPF personnel - 54) .

The recovery rate is 89.73 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1135 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 404 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

District hospitals and government institutions have 471D, 96B filled cylinders and distributions made to different districts in the last 24 hours were Bishnupur (100D,2B), Chandel (34D,8B), Churachandpur (77D,0B), Senapati (46D,0B), Thoubal (64D,32B), Ukhrul (29D,15B), Tamenglong (47D,8B) Jiribam (43D,12B), Moreh (13D,7B) Kamjong (3D,1B),Kangpokpi (2D,0B), Kakching (5D,9B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney(2D,0B) and CCC (339D,103B) .

With the initiative of mass vaccination drive taken up by district administrations, number of people vaccinated on Tuesday reached 15,235 which include 47 healthcare workers.

So far, 5,63,662 individuals have been administered vaccines and 83,970 of them have received their second doses.

Meanwhile, 51 new positive cases were detected out of 122 samples in Kakching district on Wednesday.

Three cases were detected at Ema Hospital, nine at Jivan Hospital and 42 at government RAT Centre.

One positive case is from Chandel and two from Thoubal district while the remaining 48 are residents of Kakching district.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (24,396), Imphal East (15,497), Thoubal (5850), Churachandpur (5606), Kangpokpi (1775), Tamenglong (2136), Bishnupur (4380), Senapati (1382), Ukhrul (1468), Kakching (3486), Chandel (1166), Noney (569), Tengnoupal (769), Jiribam (749), Kamjong (451) and Pherzawl (110) .

Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (411), Imphal East (299), Thoubal (108), Churachandpur (94), Kangpokpi (29), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (84), Senapati (5), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (63), Chandel (17), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (5), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3), and Pherzawl (0) .

However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 22,491 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,810 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 2,90,686 tests per million population against the national average of 2,94,304 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.65 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, 4337 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 13.65 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.74 per cent.
