Two women arrested with huge quantities of liquor and beer

Imphal, September 19 2017:
Imphal West district commando arrested two women along with a huge quantity of foreign liquor and beer at Meitei Lamkhai, along National Highway 2, under Singjamei police station, at around noon today .
According to reliable source, acting on specific information about illegal transportation of Indian made foreign liquor and beer along the National Highway (Imphal-Moreh road), a team of Imphal West district commando, under the supervision of Senior SP, Themthing Ngasangva and led by Inspector P Achouba, established a motor vehicle check post for all the vehicles plying along the road, at Meitei Lamkhai area .
During the frisking and checking of one passenger bus bearing registration number MN02-5753, coming toward Imphal from Lilong side, two women were found transporting an enormous quantity of foreign liquor and beer .
The two women were identified as Chanam Baby Devi (38) d/o Chanam Dilip Singh and Yumnam (n) Sapam (o) Chaoba Devi (34) w/o S Jiban, both from Changangei Mayai Leikai .
96 bottles of half litre Grand Master in four boxes, 24 bottles of one litre Grand Master in two boxes, 48 cans of Daiblo beer in two boxes and 48 can of Fort beer in two boxes were seized from the individuals .
The two women were arrested by the commando team after observing necessary formalities and later handed over to Singjamei police station, along with the seized items, for taking up necessary legal action against them.
