Imphal, October 16 2009:
All Manipur Students Guardians' Organisation today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, O Ibobi demanding ending the deadlock with the students' bodies at the earliest and allows resumption of normal class which has been remaining suspended for more than a month.
Representatives of the association led by its president Rev Y Rehang Chothe, and included its working president, N Chaoba and general secretary Y Yaima held talks with the chief minister for about an hour after the submission of the memorandum.
In the memorandum, Chief Minister was reminded of the keeping the students out of class for the last more than a month since September 9 after the three students' bodies announced indefinite class boycott extending support to the agitation against the July 23 incident.
The guardians meet held on October 14 last has resolved to appealed both the agitating students' bodies and government to bring an amicable solution and pave the way to resume normal class from October 21, the memorandum informed the chief minister.
The guardians' body is demanding resumption of class at the earliest so that children could get the right education which country's Parliament had passed in August this year.
The Parliament enacted the right of children to free and compulsory education Act for marching the society ahead.
It will be not a right step to snatch the right of the children in any way.
So government should arrange for resumption of class at the earliest.
