Work on Ghari-Takyel road to be completed within a week: S Keba

Imphal, September 25 2022: Patsoi AC MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor (Keba) has stated that work was in progress to develop Takyel-Ghari road in a world class manner.

The MLA made the remark while inspecting the road development work this morning today and added that Sayang-Mayaikoibi-Lukram Leirak stretch of the road which is on the border between Sagolband and Patsoi ACs has become one of the most important route used by Patsoi AC.

As per directives from Chief Minister N Biren Singh, widening and development of this stretch of road is currently in progress and if weather and conditions prevailed then black topping of this stretch can be completed before Ningol Chakkouba, he added.

Adding that the locals of both Patsoi and Sagolband ACs are extending co-operation in road development works, MLA S Keba appealed the public to continue their support in future for a Green Mayaikoibi and a Drug Free Mayaikoibi.

Regarding the development of the Takyel-Ghari road, S Keba said as FCI and FSC godowns are located along this route, hundreds of trucks ply through this road on a daily basis as well as served as an alternative route for VVIPs for movement towards the Imphal Airport as such there was need to develop this road with world class quality.

With this in view, the Chief Minister had directed the development of this route and within a week time, this road will have a new look, he added.

As a part of the inspection, MLA S Keba and BJP State president A Sarda Devi planted trees near Tera Pukhri Achouba.

The tree plantation programme was held as part of Seva Pkahwada to mark the 72nd birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi organised by OBC Morcha, BJP Manipur.
