Finally, Tamenglong ADC installed

Tamenglong, September 10 2015 : After immense pressure was exerted by the Democratic Alliance of Tamenglong which was constituted by the Naga People's Front (NPF) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tamenglong Autonomous District Council elected its Chairman here yesterday.

With this, the ADC has been installed.

The election was held at the Council hall of the Autonomous District Council, Tamenglong.

The house unanimously elected Namsinrei Panmei, Member, 5-Lamlaba DCC as the Chairman of DAT and Guisinang Pr, Member 13- Dailong DCC as its Vice-Chairman.

The election was attended by all 15 members of the DAT, Tamenglong, leaders of frontal organizations and public.

Both the newly elected Chairman and Vice-President were sworn in and certificates of election were handed over to them.

This was followed by presentation hour in which the newly elected Chairman and Vice-Chairman were welcomed by the public with bouquets and traditional shawl presentation.

Expressing his gratitude to the social leaders and the general public for their support and initiatives taken for the formation of the ADC, Namsinrei Panmei said it was only because of their support that the Council was finally installed.

Panmei also assured that the DAT will work for the welfare of the people with transparency and appealed the public to extend their support to bring development to the district.

Markson, Chairman, ADC Senapati along with some Members of Senapati ADC also attended the election.

Markson in his speech said that yesterday was a historic day as the ADC had been formed after much suppression by the State Government.

He condemned the State Government for delaying ADC formation.

He also appealed the people to unite and work for the interest of the tribal and Nagas.

On the other hand, the Chairmen Association Tamenglong (CAT) condemned the Government for its sidelining the issue of the ADC formation.

Meanwhile, the Naga People's Front (NPF) Tamenglong division has applauded the bold step taken by four MLAs of NPF who tendered their resignation denouncing the passing of three Bills and two resolutions by the state Assembly on 31 August last.
