Covid awareness drive held at Khongsang village

Noney, February 08 2022: Noney Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East)organised a vehicle based "COVID-19 Awareness Drive" at Khongsang village, Noney District today.

The aim of this awareness drive was to spread awareness on the resurgence of highly contagious Delta Variant of COVID-19, to disseminate the DO's and Don'ts including importance of social distancing and vaccination.

The villages were also sensitized regarding adherence to the guidelines of COVID 19 to restrict the community spread and were encouraged to undergo COVID vaccination, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.

The awareness drive was organised in such a manner that all the villagers could listen to the announcement from their respective homes by using Public Address system and the announcement were made in local dialect so that local public understands the precautionary measures, COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and important of vaccination, added the statement.

The villages were also sensitized about the myths of vaccination complication which are being circulated in the society through various social media platforms.

Adequate COVID-19 protection measures were followed during the event.
