Rs 107 Cr lined up for Smart City project

Ministry
of Urban Development has
sanctioned Rs 107 crore for setting
up Imphal Smart City
project and plans have been
made to appoint a Project Management
Consultant.
It may be noted that Imphal
city was among the 13 cities
of the country selected in the
second phase of the Smart
City Mission by the Central
Government.
According to a source,
Imphal Smart City's Board of
Directors held a meeting yesterday
at around 11 in the
morning at the office chamber
of Chief Secretary O
Nabakishore, who is also the
Board's Chairperson.
It stated that the meeting
discussed the possibility of
appointing a Project Management
Consultant at the earliest
and added that the Chief Executive
Officer of Imphal
Municipal Corporation has
been tasked with floating a
tender within the next two to
three days, for appointing the
Project Management Consultant.
The Project Management
Consultant will offer technical
support to the company
assigned with the Smart City
project.
It may be noted that the
Central Government and the
State Government will each
bear half of the total expenses
of the Smart City project.
A number of cities have
been listed under the Smart
City project.
