Even if paddy production fails farmers should aim for sufficient yield of various winter crops, the Minister said.
Describing food security as a global issue, Director (Agriculture) L Palendro Singh conveyed that to tackle problems arising out of food insecurity in the future various schemes have been launched in the country under the National Food Security Mission.
Under the Mission farmers are being provided with quality seeds of high yielding varieties, he said while advising the farmers to use different types of fertilizers for maintaining soil fertility.
