Imphal, September 08 2016:
The Sagang Bazar Motor Transport Society, Borayangbi Awang Leikai Youth Club, Borayangbi, Auto Rickshaw and Tata Magic Owners' Transport Co-op Society Ltd and Sagang Bazar Ching Tam Auto Rickshaw and Tata Owners' Co-operative Society have appealed to the department concerned to stick to the laid down regulations with respect to the road from Moirang to Wangoo.
In a statement, the transport bodies said that the road work stretching from Kumbi to Wangoo has violated the agreed upon guidelines set by the Government and added that the width of the road has been reduced to 12 feet.
The WBM stage is nowhere close to completion inspite of the construction work starting months back.
This road is one of the busiest, since it is utilized by people hailing from three districts Bishnupur, Churachandpur, and Thoubal, alongside others travelling to Moreh.
The organizations questioned why the WBM stage has dragged on for so long and added that the non completion of this work has resulted in frequent accidents.
The transporters further questioned why the road size from Kumbi to Wangoo is different.
This situation creates another hindrance, as this stretch of the road hardly has space for two vehicles, leading to frequent accidents.
The transporters urged the department concerned to look into the matter seriously and revert the width of the road from Kumbi to Wangoo to that of Moirang to Kumbi, in order to save the public from further inconveniences and accidents.
