Poll preparations almost complete in Thoubal, says DEO

Thoubal, April 16 2024:
The District Election Officer/Deputy Commissioner (DEO/DC) of Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash has stated that poll preparations is almost complete for Thoubal district and the polling personnel will be flagged off on April 18 to carry out their assigned duties.
The DEO informed the above during a press briefing held today at the office of District Election Officer Thoubal in connection with the ensuing 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024.He went on to state that a total of 2,04,731 voters of six assembly segments (3 assembly segments of Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and 3 assembly segments of Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency) will cast their votes in 248 identified polling stations in Thoubal district.
Special arrangements have been made to enable the displaced people to cast their votes in the two identified special polling stations namely Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex and Rice Research Station, Khangabok, he said.
The DEO further informed that the allocated allowances for the polling personnel have been handed over to their respective AROs while honorarium has been handed over to relevant CMOs or DPO or ICDS to be distributed to Anganwadi and ASHA workers who have been assigned poll duties.
If one does not receive their allocated poll allowance, they can contact the DEO Thoubal for the same, he added.
The DEO also informed that 3 model polling stations each have been opened in every assembly segment in the district to facilitate smooth and easy voting process.
Stating that polling will be done from 7 am till 4 pm on April 19, he appealed to the voters to carry valid photo identity cards when they come for voting.
Lastly the DEO sought support and cooperation from the public for the peaceful conduct of the Lok Sabha Election.
Today's press briefing was also attended by Assistant Returning Officers (AROs)
of the district.
