Kangpokpi, November 02 2020: Even though no large scale celebration of the Chin-Kuki-Mizo biggest post harvesting festival, the Chavang Kut was organized as instructed by the State Level Kut Committee owing to the pandemic COVID-19, the beautiful festival of peace and harmony was celebrated in local/area level with adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines.

The biggest post-harvest festival was also celebrated at D.Phaihel village in Kangpokpi District yesterday night under heavy November rain which failed to deter the spirit of the Kutters from across the state.

The organizing committee had a hard time enforcing the COVID-19 guidelines.

The premier festival hosted by Kuki Football Academy was attended by Lunseh Kipgen, Chairman, Kangpokpi Town Committee as 'Kut Pa' while Kaisei Lhouvum, chief of Motbung, Lhunkhohen Kipgen, chief of T Waichong and PL Robert Hekai Kipgen, editor Jingvalpa attended as Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and functional President respectively.

Ward Chairmen of Kangpokpi Town, Thangkhochon Haokip, MPS, Addl SP (LO) Kangpokpi and leaders of various civil society organizations of the district also attended the celebration as VVIPs and special guests.

The Kut Pa, Lunseh Kipgen was honourably honour with presentation before he declare the Chavang Kut celebration open followed by beating of tradition gong, Dahpi one after another by the dignitaries.

Addressing the Kutters, Kut Pa Lunseh Kipgen give strong message for the youth to find means of unity and avoid probing means of disunity amidst diverse issues stating that Chavang Kut is mean to promote unity and peace the society and the youths shall be the torch bearers of promoting unity and peace by finding only the means of unity and peace.

"Issues prevailing in the present society are mostly destructive nowadays but there are also constructive means as well.

Therefore, as a human being exists in a modern world we must find means of unity rather than probing fault and means of disunity", exhorted the Kut Pa.

Cultural dance exhibition from various communities, Kut message and speech from dignitaries and other prominent leaders marked the first session of the Chavang Kut celebration.

Chavang Kut Concert-cum-Entertainment was the main highlight of the second session which culminated at around 12 midnight.

More than twenty prominent artists including differently abled artiste and cultural troupe and comedian performed during the entertainment session.

The appearance of P5 from Lutpu Paipeh team, the rising and most watched short inspirational comedy video in YouTube among the Chin-Kuki-Mizo community, Kuki actor and actress under the aegis of Kuki Film Development Association (KUFIDA), legend Kuki pop singers Michael Luncha and Jajai Singsit and many other prominent singers enliven the moods of the kutters.

Despite of heavy November rain, Kutters enjoy at the best and celebrated the momentous occasion without any untoward incident till the end of the program.
