Bodies flay assault on Kangpokpi denizens

Three innocent denizens of Kangpokpi (Kanggui) who went to Senapati on Sunday were allegedly caught and beaten severely with their eyes blind-folded and hands and legs tied by unknown persons at the district headquarters in the evening.
They were released the same day at around 9.30 pm near traffic point Senapati bazar just in front of the Senapati police station, reportedly due to initiatives of Senapati Town Committee.
Kanggui Town Committee members including its chairman Chonkam Kipgen and Kanggui Women Welfare Organization members went to pick up them and admitted the trio at CHC, Kanggui at around 10.30 pm from where they were referred to Kanggui Christian Hospital commonly known as Mission hospital at around midnight as they did not show any improvement even after they were administered medical treatment.
The thrashing victims have been identified as III Semester student of Kanggui College Thangvanglen Misao (22), s/o Thangtinlal Misao of Kanggui Ward No.6, butcher Ginkhomang Hangshing (27) s/o Thangdou Hangshing of Kanggui Ward No.6 and construction worker (mason) Mangminlal Sitlhou (29) s/o Mangchon Sitlhou of Kanggui Ward No.11 .
Confiding that they reached Senapati at around noon and after having some drink at a liquor vendor at Senapati bazar were about to return home when they met an individual namely Mahajon, who was known to one of them and requested him to offer more drink.
Having consumed some more drinks they got in a bus bound for Kanggui when some unknown persons caught them from behind and asked them to descend from the bus, narrated the trio adding that the unknown persons took them down the Old Road followed by the unknown persons blind-folding and tying them up and taking them inside a house started the thrashing.
Contending that the unknown persons asked them whether they were associated with any UG group to which the three replied in negative, the strangers reportedly continued to beat them up inspite of revealing to them 'our profession and identity' .
several torture marks including thighs, hands, legs, buttock, face, etc could be seen on the victims.
