Lecture held on judicious use of natural resources

24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a lecture on proper use of natural resources at Sita village today.
According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), the lecture was attended by 35 locals including women and children of Sita village as proper use of natural resources is an issue of great importance in this deforested part of Manipur.
The proper ways and means of use of natural resources including Rain water harvesting were explained to the attendees in simple terms, and this helped them to understand it better.
Importance of plantation drive was duly emphasized and locals were encouraged to actively participate in the ongoing "Go Green drive" and other environmental friendly projects being undertaken by Assam Rifles in the region.
The lecture was followed by an interaction of Assam Rifles personnel with the villagers accompanied by tea and refreshments, it added.
